I spend my valentine watching the end of season 2 of Supernatural with my best friend.

We cried, held hands and stared at nothingness while the feelings of all the fuckery that happens in the last two fucking episodes sank in.

I think I can say after season 4, season 2 is my favorite.

Season 1 didnt have as much plot, with the monster of the week deal making it a little dull to watch continuously. Instead, season 2 mantains the concept of monster of the week but STILL manages to develop the characters, constructs a bigger plot and I believe it has way more sophisticated endings. Its not just the cut and dry monster= evil Winchesters kill monster, end of story. It has more depth than that, and they SHOW you that! Madison, the bank episode, the whole Sam being possesed thing.

And also, the episode where they start believing they are hunting an angel! UNF. SO MUCH FEELINGS. SO MUCH FORESHADOWING. SAM BELIEVING, DEAN DONT. SAÑDJSALDKJASLDKJ MY HEART. BOYS STOP BREAKING IT.

I also love SO MUCH how they deal with the consequences of being hunters. Of course Dean and Sam dont get a free pass, the police is after them, the freaking FBI. HENDRIKSEN. I LOVE HIM OKAY. How professional and GOOD hes at his job. (And of course KNOWING what would happen to him later on.)

And of course THE ENDING. The whole plot about the special children! And Ava, Andy, ASH. Seriously! HOW CAN YOU PACK SO MUCH SHIT IN TWO HOURS. IT WAS EPIC OKAY.

It hurts when they die and that is AMAZING. Because it means the writers are doing their jobs! When you give a character enough depth and personality to make it not likable no, but relatable, make it stand on his own. You even feel sorry for the evil ones, like the soldier who kills Sam or Ava or even MEG!

And this has become a rant but, man! That season was incredible.

And you know what the sad part is? The fact that this reminds me so much of what is missing on this season. The Winchesters are free to do virtually anything, they can evade the law easily, they can evade the leviathans, they have lost EVERYTHING they have been fighting for. And the side characters that are introduced feel like cardboard dolls, no depth, close to no personality, either too evil or not enough time to introduce them properly and with characterization all over the place.

And the deaths. Im sorry but with all the boys have lost, somethings gotta give. It doesnt feel believable that shit hasnt hit the fan already, it feels like the writers are putting it off, the eventual explosion that is bound to happen.

The story isnt fluid, nothing gets resolved, or they resolve it by KILLING the loose ends, which feels like sloppy writing and it saddens me so, so much to see such a good show be reduced to this.

Which brings me to the conclusion that I dont think Im going to keep watching if there is another season. I dont know. So far I dont feel compelled to.

What I feel like right now is to grab my box set and cuddle under the sheets until I forget season 6 and 7. Thats it.
